Ben was born in Swanage in 1979 where he still resides with his wife and two young daughters. ​​​​​​​​​​​

His work is drawn from a longstanding and deep appreciation of the Purbeck coastline which he explores on foot or on his old yellow bike. Ben's paintings convey the peaceful serenity of the area which he has been fortunate to grow up in.

Ben prefers using oils and, with his skills gained in his BA Honours in Illustration, paints sketches on location to observe colours and develop a closer affinity with the subject.
